About Us

CanLitAwards.com was born out of a passion for fine literature.It is part of a network of sister sites covering book awards in Canada, USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Our particular goal; to promote award winning literature to a global audience.

Sources are drawn from the great sea of cyberspace , hard copy literature, publishers, publicity agencies, media reports, official press releases and literary networks.

We are currently tracking several hundred english speaking literary awards and have a exponentially growing list of subscribers via our newsfeeds.

We are not, nor do we claim to be, an official representative of any of the literary awards contained within these pages. We love your work though!

This site comes under the umbrella of Sane Earth our registered business name.

About the Site Publisher- Kevin Parker

The Sane Earth Literary Award group of sister sites are published by Kevin Parker (left- photo credit Maddi' Parker). Kevin designs, programs and provides the journalistic input for the sites, outside of acknowledged sources or publicity materials.

Kevin (BA, Adv Management Cert, Conflict Resolution Cert), has a background as a Campaign Director, university researcher, lobbyist and consultant for environmental, peace and social justice issues. He was appointed as an Honorary Fellow at the University of Wollongong. He has also enjoyed success as a private sector business owner. He is an accomplished and entertaining public speaker.

Kevin is based on the Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia,in an old house set on a delightfully wildish biodynamically gardened acre. He dwells there with his wife Maddi' and their four young children, nine chickens, several possums in the roof, and a number of wallabies who eat the lettuce.

Kevin is also developing a Biodiversity data base directory biodiverselife.com.

Given that we are operating on a wing and a prayer, we apologise profusely for typing errors, punctuation stuff-ups and misspelling of names etc. It drives us up the wall too but we just can't get to it all- sad but true. Beware those who do their own proofing. If you have a passion for punctuation or an error on any of the site pages give you the 'irrits', please email us with the details and we will fix-it up as a priority with a thousand kisses blown in your direction.

The site carries third party ads to help defray costs of an out of pocket funded and expensive aspiration at this stage!.

Whilst we only partner with those who we believe to be ethically up to scratch we do not have total control regarding some companies etc that might advertise on this site via third party ad providers. Please use your own discretion.

Privacy Policy

Most web sites collect some sort of information about their visitors to determine how many visitors they get each month and what is popular on the site. Literary Awards notes such figures in order to help tailor content etc. but is only interested in overall statistic . Our sites web server is capable of providing details of IP addresses, internet service provider, the domain name and country of origin of that computer and the type of web browser being used. This information helps us to overcome technical problems inherent in some browsers and to target our content to where it is wanted.

In addition to statistics that the web server collects, the third party advertising agencies, and those that this site partners with, to stay up and running, may also collect certain information through the use of banner ads.

We have recently signed-up with Feedburner to help streamline our news feeds etc and thus are compiling a data-base of email addresses. SANE EARTH will not pass on this information to any third parties without express permission. Please checkout Feedburner's privacy policy if you have any concerns.

By Arbitration

Any such controversy or claim shall be arbitrated on an individual basis, and shall not be consolidated in any arbitration with any claim or controversy of any other party. The arbitration shall be conducted in the STATE OF NSW, Australia, and judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Either you or we may seek any interim or preliminary relief from a court of competent jurisdiction in NSW, Australia necessary to protect the rights or property of you or SANE EARTH (or its agents, suppliers, and subcontractors) pending the completion of arbitration.

Miscellaneous

Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

These Terms, including all terms, conditions and policies that are incorporated into these terms by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and SANE EARTH, and govern your use of our sites, superceding any prior agreements that you may have with us.

These Terms shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, and the parties irrevocably consent to bring any action to enforce these Terms before an arbitration panel or before a court of competent jurisdiction in NSW, Australia, if seeking interim or preliminary relief or enforcement of an arbitration award.

If any part of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the Terms shall continue in effect.
